How can I get involved?

There are a number of ways we can work together to make a real difference to patient’s experiences of local NHS Services.

You can become a member of our Involvement Scheme and there are a variety of ways in which you can get involved, for example:-

  • Readers Panel – You could help us to make sure the information we provide such as leaflets, short documents etc are user friendly and that the language we use is understandable. You can advise us of any changes you feel should be made to our publications and ultimately help us to deliver helpful and clear information to the public.
  • Interest Group – Becoming a member of our interest group means that you can receive up-to-date information and news from NHS HMR about areas of health that interest you. This can be sent to you in the post or electronically via email, and is available in a variety of formats.
  • Discussion Group – Our discussion groups are made up of small groups of people who share similar interests in health. These groups provide the opportunity for our members to share experiences and look to create an environment of confidentiality and trust where concerns, complaints and compliments can be voiced openly.
  • Reference Group – Our reference group provides the opportunity for people to attend more formal meetings or workshops designed to explore ideas for new services and to evaluate our existing services. We want to ensure all our services meet patient’s needs and to do this we would like your thoughts, comments and concerns.
  • Volunteer – NHS HMR have volunteers assisting staff to deliver our services. For more information check out our Volunteering Section.

Anyone who becomes a member of our Involvement will receive full training and support from our Patient Experience Team.
