What is a Discussion Group?

A Discussion Group is for people who may have similar conditions or experiences and would like to share these with others in a confidential and trusted environment.

Why does NHS Heywood Middleton & Rochdale  Discussion Groups?

We want to talk to you about your experiences and use the information to influence and affect changes or improvements that could be made to our services. Or we may simply want to discuss with you any changes that we may be making and ask for your views and opinions.

How does the Discussion Group work?

Groups will usually be of no more than 10 people and they will usually share similar interests in health. The discussions will be lead by a member of the Patient Experience Team who will facilitate the sessions and ensure that everybody present is given an opportunity to contribute. The sessions will be documented but any comments will be anonymised.

Where will the Discussion Groups take place?

Groups will be made available at community venues through-out the borough of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

How does the information discussed affect issues within the NHS?

The information you provide us with can be used to influence and improve service delivery and can also affect the way we develop services for the future.  Your local communities will benefit from your involvement!

Do I have to attend every Discussion Group held in my specified area?

You can participate in as many or as little as you wish. You are not obliged to attend any events and can choose to attend what is convenient and most interesting for you.
